Winter lunch in the Department of Information Science

The Department of Information Science had some time off to congratulate its former Cod, Prof Mabel Majanja for her promotion to the Director of School position. During the winter lunch, the Department also bid farewell to Dr RR Ojo. Here are the highlights:

On-going project on Climate Change and Children in KZN schools

Prof Thomas van der Walt (Unisa), Dr Felicite Fairer-Wessels (UP) and Dr Veli Jiyane (Unisa) visited the parents, education centres at Mbazwana and Mduku, and also the staff from Isimangaliso Wetland Park during their visit in KZN for the on-going project on Climate and Change and children.

LIS Symposium 2012

Both the Departments of Library Services and Information Science collaboratively organised LIS Syposium 2012. The Symposium took place in the Senate Hall, University of South Africa (Unisa) on 26-27 July 2012. The speakers were from Unisa, University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, University of Western Cape, University of the Witswatersrand, SABINET, and independent consultants.
